Hello, my name is Tom Genovese and I'm presently working near Charleston, South Carolina as a Machine/Mechanical Designer. I was a pastor for some time time and recently left a wonderful group of people in Lubec, Maine. I'm taking some time off from a full-time ministry to take care of some personal things and better prepare myself to go back into ministry again.
On this site you will find, not only my doctrinal position (what I believe the Bible teaches), but also my thoughts on issues and practices with regards to Christianity and the church. You may, or may not, agree with everything I post, but I hope what I have to say will stir your minds, ignite a fire in your soul, and encourage you to investigate the Scriptures for yourself. A bit about my last ministry -
I left the pastorate of Ridge Baptist Church in Lubec, ME in early 2011.
My wife Deb and I spent a combined almost seven years ministering to
some wonderful people in the town that is dubbed the eastern most point
in the USA. Lubec, a town of less than 2000 people, is as far east as
you can go in the United States and situated on the cold Bay of Fundy.
Deb and I have lived most of our lives in Connecticut not more than an
hour and a half from the ocean. Even now, living in Charlston, SC we are
only 30 minutes from the beach. The shores of Lubec, however, is very
different than any shore that we've ever visited. In the words of a dear
friend, Mike Z., "Lubec's shores are pristine."
When Deb and I left Lubec, I ended my Lubec First Works blog. That blog
was many things to me. It contained a sort of diary from the time I
accepted the pastorate, thoughts on the Scriptures, experiences, etc.,
but all pertinent to my ministry there. It was only fitting to start a
new blog and keep a few of my post that helped shape some of my ministry
practices. So, today I launch "His Grip of Grace"
